ABOUT ME

A giant pack of felt tips pens was always my favourite Christmas present when I was wee. As a teenager I painted an embarrassing mural of my favourite pop star on my bedroom wall, so I guess art college was the obvious next move.

Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art I’ve worked as a graphic designer. However, too much screen time got me craving a more hands-on creative outlet. I took classes at Edinburgh Printmakers and discovered that the processes involved in creating screens prints were a perfect match for me, allowing me to combine my love for photography with my skills as a graphic designer.

The inspiration for my screen prints often comes from my photographs. I search for an unusual angle on familiar landmarks and then strip it back to its strongest components. I then screen print using bold colour combinations and sections of vintage maps which provide locality to the subjects, and tie in the area’s history.

I’ve been showing my work in shops and galleries around town for a few years now and for the last 5 years have taken part in Abbeyhill Colony of Artists event, of which I am a Committee member. I’m also a member of The Murally People, a community mural project dedicated to brightening up and tackling graffiti problems around the east end of the city.

Thanks for visiting my site and please get in touch if you would like to know more about my work.

Thanks
